About Us
Zavels Family Farms is a three-generation family farm in East Knox County, growing from its 1970s beginnings as a 95-acre registered Angus operation to more than 300 acres of diversified crops today. Mike and Tammy Zavels, along with their sons Zack and Charlie and their families, farm full-time and are well known at local Knox County farmers’ markets.
They harvest produce the same day it’s sold, ensuring freshness without industrial storage, and supply several restaurants across Knox and Blount Counties. While not certified organic, Zavels Family Farms follows organic-minded, hands-on growing practices—keeping the work and the harvest truly family-handled from field to market.
